Notes from the Fairway

I hope that everyone had a great winter and was able to enjoy all of the snow we received. I am looking forward to see everyone out on the course in the coming weeks. Our staff is very excited to provide a wonderful golf and tennis experience for the 2011 season.

Over the winter we removed some unsightly areas around the course. These areas consisted of brush, dead trees, weeds and leaves. Clearing these areas will make for healthier turf conditions as well as giving all a better golfing experience. Over the past month we have begun to install the refurbished course accessories into our newly built water stations. We have also been working towards the upcoming season by cleaning winter debris and preparing the bunkers for play.

The tennis windscreens have been installed and I look forward to working with our new tennis pro throughout the season.

Lastly, the construction of the cold storage building has begun and we are looking forward to the use of the new building.

Please notice that we have placed signs and ropes throughout the golf course over the past few weeks. I would ask that all gas carts return to the cart path before reaching these signs. This is to direct all cart traffic where is best for the health of the golf course. For those using push carts, we have placed separate openings in the ropes short of the approach where you should exit to take the cart path. To keep all carts on the fairways and cart paths as much as possible would be a great help.

Thank you for the continued support of the golf course and our maintenance department.

Regards,

Brian Macmillan
