CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF INCORPORATION TODAY
On December 7, 1962, citizens voted to incorporate, 689 – 361;
however, because of court challenges, the vote did not become official until April 9, 1963.
The year 2013 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Incorporation of the Village. While the actual date of incorporation fell in April of 1963, the Village plans to celebrate this milestone throughout this year.
From a special commemorative journal to a family picnic in the park, efforts are underway to offer something for everyone in our in celebration of this landmark year.
We look forward to celebrating with our friends and neighbors!PJFL’s Living Heritage is excited to announce our newest venture. We are embarking on a video history project that will showcase the fight for incorporation through the eyes of residents who lived in the Village during this time.
