Recreation Events

The Recreation Department strives to provide leisure-time activities and events to all populations. As the Village Center celebrates its sixth year of operation, program offerings in this unique venue have expanded to include seasonal youth programs in village facilities and fields, to Senior trips and luncheons, Recreation staff provides ongoing program development in response to participant profiles. Enjoy a spring hike, try country couples dancing, or relax in village parks.

Special events in the village are co-sponsored by a myriad of not-for-profit partners and include the Antiques & Garden Weekend, Green Fest, Harvest Fest, Dickens Festival and more. ”Port Jeff LIVE” is our monthly info-lecture series of exciting presentations covering a broad range of topics of interest to our community and is sponsored by the Port Jefferson Recreation Department and the Conservancy.

Four function rooms each offering a unique view of the Village and harbor, are available for rental throughout the year. Beautiful vistas and stunning sunsets add special ambience to private parties and corporate events. Local hotels and restaurants, as well as the ferry to Bridgeport, CT, are within walking distance to the Center. Click here for more info.
