Welcome to Port Jefferson!

Our Village is a visitor's dream, and one of the most picturesque of waterside villages to be found on Long Island. Spend some time moseying through this upscale shoppers paradise of clothing, jewelry and home boutiques. Plan some time to be waylaid by the antique stores and art galleries, then enjoy some cool jazz in the supper clubs or revive yourself in one of the coffee houses. There is live theatre all year long for your entertainment pleasure. The streets are safe, clean and lovely to amble along, as you browse to your hearts content. Visit our scenic PJ Village Center overlooking Harborfront Park and our beautiful harbor. Take a class, rent a room, relax on the 2nd floor "Living Room." Scenic private rooms are available to rent for meetings, special events and conferences. Village Election Results

Congratulations to our returning incumbent Trustee Joe Erland and to the newest member of The Village Board of Trustees - Trustee Carmine Dell Aquila. The Village would like to extend their heartfelt thanks, gratitude and best wishes to departing Trustee Barbara Ransome. Trustee Ransome's dedication to our Village and her tireless efforts regarding all endeavors that she was involved with are greatly appreciated and we are sure that she will continue to be an active participant in Village government. We will miss you Barb!

To contact the Suffolk County Police Department to report any matter requiring a police officer's response please use the following:

Non-Emergencies (Noise complaints, loud parties, barking dogs, other non-life threatening situations): 852-COPS (852-2677).

Metered Parking

Metered parking now in effect. For information click on "Metered Parking" in menu on left.

Justice Court

The 1st Monday of the month, the Justice Court, will be open later, until 6:30 PM, to accommodate our residents who wish to get their parking stickers.

Please remember to bring in your car registration for each vehicle you would like to receive a sticker.

GO GREEN! LITM Bicycle Locker Program at the Port Jefferson LIRR Station

Long Island Transportation Management, Inc. (LITM), on behalf of the NY State Department of Transportation, is offering enclosed bicycle lockers for rent at various LIRR train stations, including Port Jefferson. By bicycling to your train, you will save on gas, avoid parking hassles, and do a good thing for your health and the environment. GGO GREEN! o Green!
