The goal of the Port Jefferson Recreation & Parks
Department is to provide a variety of facilities and programs to meet the leisure time needs of all groups. Program development is ongoing and your questions and suggestions are welcomed.
FACILITIES
Village Center |
The Village Center is nestled in the Harborfront Park and offers breath taking views of Long Island Sound. The Center offers a vibrant space for social, recreational and educational functions and is open to residents and non-residents alike. Rotating photo and visual art exhibits are on display in the second floor gallery. Five function rooms, each offering a unique view of Port Jefferson Village and Harbor, are available for rental throughout the year. Rooms can accommodate gatherings ranging from small informal meetings to large private or corporate occassions. As a bonus, the Center offers a seasonal outdoor skating rink as a distinctive backdrop for these events.

East & West
Beaches |
Port Jefferson Village offers residents 1 & 1/2 miles of shoreline on Long Island
Sound. Beaches are open from mid-June to Labor Day,
with lifeguards are on duty 10am to 6pm, dly.
Group party areas are available, as well as, a
volleyball net (East Beach), and Sunfish/Sailfish racks (West Beach). Permits may be required so please call (631)802-2160 for more information. |
Caroline Ave. Ball field |
This lighted field hosts softball / baseball / and soccer functions in the Village. |
Kip Lee Park |
This extensive playground area, which provides handicap accessibility, also includes 3 lighted tennis courts, two basketball courts, and an Interpretive walkway with historical markers.
"The Little Barn" is also located here and is the backdrop for summer children's shows and movies. |
Spring St. Rec. Center |
The Gym and multipurpose room in this facility formally known as "Port Jefferson Junior High School" are used for indoor recreation programs including basketball, volleyball and aerobics. |
"Texaco" Park |
This uptown park includes a playground and picnic area, as well as a 1/2 court basketball playing surface. |
PROGRAMS
The Port Jefferson Recreation Department offers a variety of resident-only programs. However, any programs that are offered at the Port Jefferson Village Center have NO residency restrictions. Visit PJVillageCenter.com for more information on programs and events at the Center.

The Recreation Department offers a variety of programs, including the following: Yoga, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Aerobics, Open Volleyball, Basketball, Softball
and Volleyball Leagues, Tennis lessons, Ballroom Dancing, Duplicate Bridge, and a Year-round walking group.

Trips |
