The Maritime Explorium at Port Jeff Harbor

Much to the delight of its current membership and many visitors, the Children’s Maritime Museum is opening as the Maritime Explorium at Port Jeff Harbor in the historic Chandlery Building in Harborfront Park in Port Jefferson. Ribbon cutting is at Noon on May 14, 2011.

Until the move to its permanent home in the Chandlery Building and its soft opening in mid March, visitors are enjoying the Museum each weekend, 1-5 PM, in its current location in the Port Jefferson Village Center, where the Children’s Maritime Museum continues to provide stimulating, self-directed, interactive exhibits, programs, and activities that are rich in the maritime history of Long Island.
