Long Island Seaport and Eco Center

In keeping with its Mission Statement, Long Island Seaport and Eco Center (LISEC) is focused on the conservation of Long Island Sound and preservation of Long Island’s maritime heritage. It supports and sponsors projects and activities to raise awareness of the area’s nautical history and the environment, while educating our youth and keeping alive the spirit of community involvement.

Currently LISEC is heavily involved with its ever expanding wooden boat restoration and building activities housed in the Bayles Boat Shop, located in Port Jefferson’s Harborfront Park. Its involvement with Adopt-A-Beach, Shellfish Restoration, Go Green Events, Using the Sound and Harbor as a Learning Laboratory are part of its ever expanding outreach.
